Post Office Releases Dates For Sassa Grant Collection

0

The national Post Office has made Sassa grants available for beneficiaries to pickup at their nearest post office branch. The order of collection for the grants, starting in January 2022, has recently been released.

South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) grants can be collected from several places working in collaboration with Sassa to distribute the Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD) to citizens that have been left unemployed amidst the pandemic. One of these collaborators is the South African Post Office.

Although this collaboration with the SA Post Office is a beneficial one, Sassa and Sapo have considered the possibility for overcrowding and the potential for Covid-19 regulations to be neglected during collection.

As a result, they have devised a system to combat this issue by allowing citizens to collect their grants according to the last three digits of their ID numbers.

The January to February 2022 order of collection will commence according to the following:

  • 10 January: ID numbers ending in 085 and 080
  • 11 January: ID numbers ending in 081 and 086
