After a day of non-payment, the South African Post office will now continue to distribute the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant. Here are the remaining payment dates for the month of December.
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) reintroduced the SRD grant to help unemployed individuals with some financial support.
The post office did not distribute any SRD grants on Thursday. This was because South Africa celebrated the Day of Reconciliation, a public holiday which occurs annually on 16 December 2021.
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) revealed SRD grant beneficiaries can now collect their grants at post office branches around the country on the stipulated dates.
It’s important to note that the last three digits of your ID number determine on which days you can collect your SRD grant from the post office. The post office has also called on SRD grant recipients to wait for an SMS before going to collect their grants.
Here are the remaining days on which SRD grant beneficiaries can collect their grants.
17 December – 083 & 088
20 December – 084 & 089
21 December – 080 & 085
22 December – 081 & 086
